China CNR Corp plans to build high-speed rail lines in Russia
Published: Thu, 2015-03-26 10:23China CNR Corp, one of China's largest producers of locomotives, plans to participate in the projects for the building of high-speed rail lines in Russia, according to Yu Weiping, vice-president of the company.
As part of this, the company may provide funds for the building of Moscow-Kazan high speed rail line, one of the most ambitious projects in the Russian industry of high-speed rail lines in recent years.
In addition to Russia, the company has also not ruled out the possibility of building of high-speed rail lines in other countries of Central Asia, however, considering Russia as a priority country for investments.
In October 2014 Russian RZD, the Russian Ministry of Transport, the Chinese State Committee of Development and Reform and the Chinese Railways corporation signed the Russian-Chinese memorandum on the development of high-speed rail lines, which involves building of the Moscow - Beijing Eurasian high-speed corridor with Moscow-Kazan rail line (with the length of 770 km) being considered as one of the sections of the future corridor.
