Siemens to invest 60 million euros in expansion of depots in Russia
Published: Tue, 2014-11-18 08:00German Siemens plans to invest 60 million euros in the expansion of depots for the services of Sapsan and Lastochka electric trains in Russia’s St. Petersburg region, according to Dietrich Moeller, president of Siemens in Russia and Central Asia.
According to an earlier agreement of Siemens and RZD, the companies will focus on the capacities of local railways depots. As part of the companies’ plans are building of a new plant for the service of the trains, which will allow to maintenance not only Sapsans, but also Lastochkas. The new facility will be put into operation at the beginning of 2015.
