China to build 1400 km railway line in Nigeria
Published: Fri, 2014-11-21 09:49China is working hard to build railways across the world, and has recently concluded a multi-billion dollar deal. China’s CRCC will build a 1400 km long railway along the coast of Nigeria, from Lagos to Calabar.
According to the news agency Xinhua the contract amounts to 12 billion US dollars. CRCC (China Railway Construction Corp.) anticipates that construction works will generate as many as 200 000 jobs, and that the train line will result in 30,000 jobs, directly or indirectly.
The commercial speed of trains on the new line is set to 120 kph.
