Ukranian Railways to repair national railway fleet
Ukranian national railway operator Ukranian Railways plans to invest up to 2.13 billion hryvnia (about US$70 million) in the repair of its rolling stock this year. It is planned that up to 75% of this volume will be invested in the repair of freight cars, while the remaining 25% on repair of passenger cars.
Overal, 27,500 freight and 2,600 passenger rail cars to be repaired.
According to state plans, repair of national railway fleet is an acute need, as, in recent years the level of its deterioration has exceeded 80%.
