According to Rotenberg, detailed documentation of the project yet has not been prepared. The volume of investments in the project may exceed 228.3 billion rubles (US$6 billion).
Rotenberg said that the Ministry of Transport has considered "more than 70 proposals" for the building of the bridge, however, in addition to Stroygasmontazh, the real proposal was only presented by Stroytransgaz, owned by Gennady Timchenko, another Russian billionaire close to Putin. However the latter decided to leave the project in early December, due to high risks.
