First Norwegian-Italian rail contract signed
Published: Thu, 2015-02-26 12:01Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket) and Società Italiana per Condotte d ' Acqua S.p.a. (Condotte) have signed a contract for the construction of Follobanan, Norway’s largest infrastructure project.
The contract includes tunnelling, and is one of five major contracts, so-called EPC contract in this mega project.
The value of the contract amounts to approximately NOK 1.2 billion.
- This is our first contract in Scandinavia and I am proud that Norwegian National Rail Administration has chosen our company. We aim to accomplish the mission in the best way, says Duccio Astaldi, CEO of Condotte, in a press statement.
Pre-qualified companies from all over Europe and from Asia have already been offered subcontracts for the Follo line project. The main work is divided into five EPC contracts: EPC Oslo S, EPC, EPC TBM, D & B, EPC, rails and signals.
Much of the preparatory work, including construction of access roads to construction sites and two access tunnels, has almost been accomplished and will be completed in the coming months.
