Railway personnel involved in smuggling
Published: Mon, 2015-03-02 16:00Pakistan Customs presented a detailed report on smuggling through railways between Pakistan and India at Wagha border. Pakistan Railways will investigate the issue as the number of reported cases is on the rise in last few months.
According to Pakistan Customs report, the railway employees of both sides are involved in smuggling. Spokesperson of Pakistan Railways told Customs Today that General Manager Railways has formed a special committee to investigate under the light of Customs report. Railway Officer Perveen Qadir has been made incharge of the investigating team by the GM Pakistan Railway.
Three cases of smuggling have been registered in last three days including a woman trying to smuggle huge quantity of gold in her luggage and three kg heroin worth millions of Rupees hidden in the goods train vegan intercepted by joint operation of Anti-Narcotics Force, Pakistan Railway Police and Pakistan Customs.
