Czech CZ Loko to modernize locomotives to Latvia’s railway operator
Published: Wed, 2014-11-26 09:03Latvijas dzelzcels, Latvia’s railway operator, has signed a contract with Czech CZ Loko, one of EU’s largest producers of rolling stock, for the reconstruction of 14 diesel 2M62M locomotives.
It is planned that all the planned works will be completed by 2018.
According to Latvijas dzelzcels, modernization of 2M62 will meet the company’s needs in railway traction during transportation of heavy freight trains from Russia and Belarus.
All the new locomotives 2M62UM will have a modern design and will be equipped with the latest German MTU engines, which meet the European Euro 3A requirements.
