Rail infrastructure: a growth market in France
Published: Fri, 2015-03-27 15:24The major French rail trade fair, Sifer 2015, which took place in Lille, France, between Mars 24-26, reflects the growth of rail infrastructure in France. In a press release, Sifer writes that with each passing edition of trade fair, the rail infrastructure sector has established a steadily growing presenceat the event.
Since the introduction of this space in 2007, the number of exhibitors has practically doubled. And this year, stakeholders in this sector alone will represented close to a quarter of the event'sexhibitors.
This trend is a clear reflection of the state of the rail market today. According to the latest results published by FIF - the French Rail Industry Federation – in September 2014, infrastructure is one of the few growth areas in the French rail industry (up 17.7% between 2012 and 2013).
For this 9th SIFER exhibition, 3 on track displays will be showcasing some 20 vehicles and products embodying innovations in the field of rail infrastructure, including a rail grinding truck, a low rail structure and a mechanical excavator.
Also, for the first time this year, Colas Rail which is actively involved in many rail infrastructure projects will be present at SIFER as an exhibitor.
