US rail facilities expanded by Energy Company
Published: Sun, 2013-06-09 23:00Genesis Energy is planning to expand its current rail terminal in Natchez, Mississippi, US, as well as build a new train loading facility, called the Pronghorn Rail Facility, in the Powder River Basin of the Niobrara Shale Play in the US state of Wyoming.
The existing Natchez rail terminal manages straight and / or minimally diluted bitumen delivered by Canadian National.
The company is currently finalizing the first phase of the facility at Natchez terminal, which includes 40 railcar spots, scheduled to be completed in June 2013.
Genesis is also planning a second phase expansion, under which it will build 60 railcar spots and extra heated tanks for operational flexibility at the facility, with the second-stage infrastructure scheduled to be operational in late 2013.
Genesis started construction of the Pronghorn Rail Facility, a new unit train loading facility in Converse County, Wyoming, after receiving all necessary permits in early April 2013.
