Russia’s Transmashholding to supply trains to Sofia metro

Russian Metrovagonmash factory, which is part of JSC Transmashholding, the largest manufacturer of locomotives and rail equipment in Russia, has signed an agreement with the Bulgaria’s Sofia metro on the supply of 30 "Rusich" metro trains.
All the trains will be delivered during 2013 and will be equipped with noise prevention and"anti-graffiti" systems.
The trains are fully compatible to the European narrow gauge, and are expected to be equipped with "Hitachi" asynchronous traction drive.
Transmashholding has been cooperating with Sofia subway since 1998. The current fleet of the Sofia Metro has more than 100 cars. All of them are made by Metrowagonmash in different years.
