Construction of Carlsberg's new train station in Copenhagen has begun. The station building, which will be completed in the summer of 2016, will be located about 200 metres from the still existing Enghave Station at the S-train line to Valby.
When the new station is in use, the older Enghave station will be closed and dismantled, which is expected to take place during the fall of 2016.
The process of building the tracks on the new station means that the S-trains are going to operate in the spring according a revised schedule. One can read more about the traffic changes at www.rejseplanen.dk and www.dsb.dk.
Carlsberg's Station is part of the new Carlsberg City district. Platforms of the new S-train station can be reached by stairs and elevator from a large building that will look like a space station.
A large area is reserved for bicycle parking. In addition to the three existing gates the passenger can enter to the station's platforms from the street Vesterfælledvej.
The new station was designed by Gottlieb Paludan Architects in conjunction to UCC's new learning campus. The entire building, which contains 82000 square meters, will include everything from the UCCs campus, retail shops and couple of 30 meter high apartment buildings.
Carlsberg Station was designed and constructed by Carlsberg city as a client. Banedanmark and DSB will take over the station when it is ready.
