Russian production of rail cars declines this year
Published: Thu, 2015-04-16 13:38The production of rail cars in Russia since the beginning of the current year has declined by 56%, compared to the same period of last year, according to Cyril Negoda, a senior analyst of the Center for Economic Forecasting of Gazprombank, one of Russia’s largest banks.
This became mainly due to economic sanctions, imposed on Russia by Western countries.
At the same time, in addition to production, imports have also declined. During the period of January-April of the current year only 300 rail cars were imported to Russia.
At the same time the rate of disposal of rail cars in 2014 has also grown, compared by 2013(+ 52%).
