
New trams in Shenyang

In September 2013, in conjunction with the 12th National Games in China, trams are to be seen on the streets of Shenyang City, after 40 years of absence. It is Voith, together with the Chinese manufacturer Changchun Railway Vehicles Company, will supply the new rail vehicle fleet.
Shenyang is northern China's economic and cultural center and the capital of the Liaoning Province. 2013 the city will host the 12th edition of the National Games. The Games are organized every four years and is a competition for Chinese athletes from across the country in a variety of disciplines, from riding and cycling to gymnastics and ball games.
It is to tie in to this event which Shenyang is expanding its infrastructure for public transport with both new trams as a 60-kilometer tram network.
