Stadler to build plant for production of rail cars in Belarus
Published: Mon, 2014-11-24 11:13Swiss Stadler Rail Group has officially commissioned a new enterprise for the production of railway transport in Belarus, according to the company.
It is planned that the new plant, located in the city of Fanipol, will focus on the production of rolling stock for the broad-gauge railway used in the CIS countries.
At the initial stage the new plant will focus on the production of 20 double-decker trains for the Aeroexpress, the operator of air rail link services in Russia’s Moscow.
The plant has the capacity to produce 120 rail cars per year. The volume of investments in the project amounted to 50 million euros. The plant will create 600 jobs.
