Production of freight cars in Russia may decline by 30% this year

According to them, the decline of production has been observing since the middle of 2014, due to a significant drop of demand.
So far, several Russian producers of rail cars has announced their plans for the reduction of production in 2015, which is mainly due to the increase of metal prices. In late January, the suspension of production was announced by Altaivagon, the second largest Russian manufacturer of freight rolling stock.
As reported in the company, production will be partially resumed on January, 19 of the current year. However, during the first quarter the plant will use only a quarter of its production capacity, which is estimated at 800 cars per month.
