In an official letter to Dmitry Medvedev, sent by Mykola Lysenko, RAPRT’s executive director, he said that Russian transport engineering faces with serious challenges.
According to him, prices for basic materials and energy resources used in the production of rolling stock in Russia only for the last month increased by on average by 10%, while the rise in price of metals for some items reached 35%.
The situation is aggravated by the refusal of the majority of Russian banks to provide cheap loans and the increase of rates up to 25-30%.
