According to an official spokesman of the Russian government, the majority of funds will be allocated on the organization of a tender for the execution of survey and design works of the new rail line, after completion of which construction works will be started.
Analysts of the Russsian Ministry of Transport believe that building of the new rail line is an acute need as the existing Sapsans and Lastochka high-speed trains are not currently used in full.
In order to unlock their potential, there is a need to establish a new railway track with AC power, as well as to liquidate intersections with roads.
The government plans to use the experience of China, where in recent years the capacity of high-speed railways has significantly increased
